of Polyneices, with piercing screams,
an eagle flying above our land,
covered wings as white as snow,

Basically the Chorus celebrates the Theban victory over Polynecies, praising Zeus for destroying the arrogant Polyneices and ensuring that the "savage pair" dies so that the "sacred precincts" of Thebes can be free.
