what tricks are used to trick Mr. Whymper?

The animals fill their grain buckets with sand and put what little grain they have on top, to fool Whymper into thinking they have plenty to eat.They also fooled Mr Whymper by getting permission for the pigs' move into the farmhouse to sleep in the farmer's beds.
