The single commanment on the wall, “All animals are equal; But some animals are more equal than others,” speaks to the actions of Hitler and Stalin, who used propaganda to take over their respective countries. These men accomplished tyranny with empty promises. They kept their people uneducated and ignorant. Orwell endorses socialism but warns against the autocrats who use socialism for their own benefit.
