The animals work harder than ever in the belief that things will get better and that everyone will have a fair share. Thye work harder, have less, experience food shortages, and live in horrid conditions. These difficulties are experienced by everyone but the pigs.

The animals were treated like slaves as the cows milk were reserved for the animals health and not for all the animals which breaks the seventh commandment : all animals are equal. The windmill was destroyed a few times before it came out well. They must work harder and they had lesser food and their lunch time was postponed by 1 hour everyday.
