The animals believed their lives would improve after getting rid of Mr. Jones, but things didn't really work out the way they planned. The animals did relieve themselves of human subversion, but that was about the only positive change. Al in all, they ended up working harder and longer hours, and their daily food supply decreased rather than increased. The pigs took over Mr. Jones role on the farm...... living in his home, enjoying its comforts, and even helping themselves to his liquor. The pigs also received the best food available and did not assist is any task that required physical labor. When you consider that the pigs took their role of leadership one step further ordering the executions of some animals..... they were far better off with Mr. Jones.
