How did napoleon trick the animals into forgetting how hard life was for them ?

In Chapter Ten, Squealer reads the animals statistics to make them believe that their lives are better than in the days of Mr.Jones’s rule. These statistics are, of course, false, but the animals once again believe the manipulative techniques of the pigs.
