With the slogan of “Four legs good, two legs bad,” Snowball reduces the Seven Commandments into this single maxim, vastly oversimplifying the full system of Animalism into a catchphrase.

When Old Major is attempting to get the animals to revolt against Mr. Jones, he states "Man is the only real enemy we have". This is an oversimplification, and comes from the fact that since all of the misery the animals have endured has come at the hands of man, that man is their only foe in life. Another oversimplification comes from the reasoning that determines that birds are animals. Animals have 4 legs. Birds have 2 wings and 2 legs, which equals 4 legs. Therefore, birds are animals.
