Napoleon quickly establishes himself as a dictator after the rebellion. To a lesser extent Snowball also establishes himself but has more noble motives for doing so. Napoleon justifies his power by using rhetoric filled with intimidation and manipulation. The animals do his bidding out of fear and complacency.
