Angela's Ashes

What do you learn about Irish sectarianism in Angela's Ashes?

Can you, maybe, give an example?

In Angela's ashes, Ireland is a nation with such sectarian hatred and religious divisiveness. Catholic and Protestants despise each other while the British remain a constant threat. One example of sectarianism is the fact that Malachy McCourt is a Protestant from Belfast. But his wife, Angela is a Catholic girl from Limerick.
