Why do you think Annie DIllard read "The Field Book of Ponds and Streams" so many times?

Dillard reads the Field Book of Ponds and Streams over again because she is attracted to the idea of collecting samples in remote, waterlogged "fields". She also feels a connection with the other people who have checked the book out.
