The Arrival at Jaffrey? Amos responded to the constable's warning by telling him that he was a good tanner. The constable them told Amos to go and talk to the parson, who told Amos that they had great need of a farmer in town, and who offered him a piece of land on which he could live free of charge until he had enough money to buy his own.
