Amos Fortune, Free Man

For the rest of his life, how did Amos continue to do the work he “had been born to do”? Why did he do so, even though he was no longer a king in Africa?

In his memory he knew he had been born a king, but it was the little Roxanna reading from the Bible who had shown him the only way that he could become a king. So he had lived his life thereafter and so he would continue to live it as long as strength and manhood lasted within him.

Amos understood that the only way he could become a king was to lead a Biblical life and care for his family... to trust God and work hard... to be the Lord's man.
