Luis's attempted murder (Situational Irony)

Patrick follows Luis into the bathroom at the Yale Club intending to strangle him to death. However, Patrick's attempt results in an unexpected outcome when Luis mistakes Patrick's touch for a sexual advance, and then Patrick cannot go through with the act.

Patrick's business card (Situational Irony)

Patrick pulls out his business card while drinking with Pierce & Pierce colleagues expecting to impress them. However, Patrick is humiliated when each of his co-workers produces in turn his own business card of increasingly superior quality.

Evelyn's dessert (Dramatic Irony)

Evelyn is unaware that her dessert is a urinal cake disguised as a Godiva chocolate, which Patrick goes to great lengths to procure and disguise, even having the waiters bring it out to her from the restaurant's kitchen.

Paul Owen's apartment (Situational Irony)

Patrick visits Paul Owen's apartment, expecting to find the blood-stained mess that he has left behind. Instead, he finds that it has been completely renovated in order to be sold on the real estate market.

Harold Carnes's allegation (Situational Irony)

After leaving a voicemail for Harold Carnes confessing to all of his murders, including Paul Owen's, Patrick expects Harold to be appalled when he encounters him. Instead, Harold dismisses the voicemail as a prank and tells Patrick he recently spoke with Paul in London.
