Why does Miller choose to call Joe 'Keller'?

Why does the author, Miller, specifically choose the name 'Keller' for the name of the protagonist?

Calling someone by their last name is cold...... this exemplifies Joe's personality and actions. Some also believe the name Keller might possibly be a play on the word "killer."

Arthur Miller chooses to call Joe 'Keller' as Joe killed 21 pilots during the war. Anyone can recognise the word Keller to be 'Killer'. (Source- My english teacher)
