All My Sons

One can read a play or watch it. Which experience is best, and why? Or are both rewarding in different ways?

I think plays are meant to be watched or at the leased visualized. Reading a play is fine but the subtleties of great plays, like Shakespeare or anything by Arthur Miller, need to be seen to be felt. I remember running to the University library to watch these rather dry BBC Shakespearean productions on video as we read the play in class. THis really helped my understanding.
