Komura
Komura is the main character of "ufo in Kushiro". Five days after the Kobe earthquake, he comes home to see his wife has left him a note. His wife calls him a "chunk of air"– an empty, vapid being. Throughout the story, Komura tries to get his wife back and thinks carefully about his life and personality.
Yoshiya
Yoshiya is the main character of "all god's children can dance". A man who lives with his mother, when he was younger, he believed his father was "Our Lord" because of advice a father figure had told him. In the story, he comes to a personal awakening after dancing on a baseball field and thinking about his life.
Katagiri
Katagiri is the protagonist of "super-frog saves Tokyo". After coming home from work, he sees a frog who tells him he is going to save Tokyo from a huge earthquake. The frog's mission fails, but it is revealed it was all a dream.
Satsuki
Satsuki is the protagonist of "Thailand". While on a vacation to Thailand, she is guided by Nimit, who drives around and one day takes her to an old woman. This woman treats her spirit and makes her realize she has been holding on to life too tightly, and that she should value life equal to death.
Nimit
Nimit is a secondary character in "Thailand". She guides Satsuki and drives her to her hotel and the pool in a car that she has inherited from her previous employer whom she grew close to.
