-Where were the first shots fired that led into the Civil War and who fired them?

Just before sunrise on April 12, 1861, a shell exploded above Fort Sumter. It was the first shot fired in the American Civil War. I'm not sure who fired the first shot. I think it was Edmund Ruffin.
