The Spider-Girl is considered an oddity but people generally believe her tale. More or less a sideshow freak, her authenticity is not debated by the public rather her simple morality tale is taken at face value. Yes, if you sneak out to go dancing, God might well zap you into a spider. The villagers are not particularly kind to her, they hurl meatballs at her but she is not considered a fraud.
