A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings

What are some hyperbolically descriptive comments in the story?

I am having trouble finding hyperbolically descriptive and philosophical comments in the story, as it seems to be very hard for me to spot, but one example is in the opening of the story, the author interrupts by saying, "The world had been sad since Tuesday." Anyone willing to help, I will greatly appreaciate it!

Examples of Hyperbole:

On the third day of rain they had killed so many crabs inside the house that Pelayo had to cross his drenched courtyard and throw them into the sea, because the newborn child had a temperature all night and they thought it was due to the stench."

"In the midst of that shipwreck disorder that made the earth tremble"
