What is the central idea of the book, "A Time To Kill"?

In my opinion, the main idea in the text speaks to the fact that people can make a difference.... one person stepping in to to do the right thing can make something hopeless become a possibility.

I believe that this book addresses the question of Morality and Law. What is Justice?
