A Thousand Splendid Suns

What would you say the author Hosseini is trying to "sell" in this book?

Could be an emotion or something else. What point is he trying to give us or what is he trying to "sell" in this book? Is it soemthing along the lines of the women of the Islam religion and how the are mistreated or is it a deeper point that we can all connect to? Like a 'moral of the story'?

I think the plight of women in Islamic-state countries is a major theme that should resonate with both men and women everywhere. Like most authors. who are truly artists, Hosseini isn't trying to sell anything. He is giving us a character driven story that is both sad and enlightening about a part of the world that has become increasingly relevant in all our lives.
