A Thousand Splendid Suns

Could someone tell me in my introduction answers the prompt

It has often been said that what we value can be determined only by what we sacrifice. Consider how this statement applies to a character from A Thousand Splendid Suns. Select a character that has deliberately sacrificed, surrendered, or forfeited something in a way that highlights that character's values. Then write a well-organized essay in which you analyze how the particular sacrifice illuminates the character's values and provides a deeper understanding of the meaning of the work as a whole.

In Literature, many characters or people often sacrifice their morals and values due to an unwanted circumstance in their life. These circumstances lead us to the book A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hossieni, throughout it almost every person in the book must surrender many attributes that are important to them in order to make it through everyday life. One prominent character, Laila, is forced to make many hard decisions that drive her to foreit certain joys which ultimately highlight her many values. She is curious and intelligent and she retains a strong sense of Afghanistan’s culture and is hopeful for its future. This all plays into the main meaning of the book which is that its, a celebration of endurance and survival in the face of unspeakable tragedy.

Unfortunately this is only a short-answer space. I think your choice of Laila is a good one for the theme of your question.
