Why does Blnche want Stella to leave?

In the beginning, we as readers believe that Blanche wants Stella to leave Stanley for her own purposes. In contrast, as the novel progresses, we come to see that Blanche's suspicions about Stanley's abusive nature are true. Thus, even though Blanche seems to be most concerned with her own issues, we later learn that her worries for her sister did have substance.
