What does Stanley mean by "get the colored lights going"

Stanley is referring to making love to his wife.

He does mean making love to his wife as mentioned above but it also contrasts with Blanche's association of light with love.

The use of "coloured" represents New Orleans and the future whereas white represents the past and Blanche.
