Symbolism and Allusion?

Belle Reve means "beautiful dream." It is the name of the plantation that Stella and Blanche used to live at. It represents the entitled and, to them, nostalgic life they used to enjoy in the old South. It is an allusion to the romantic notion of the Old South like in Gone with the Wind.
