A Streetcar Named Desire

Scene 9

Blanche says, "Something's the matter tonight, but never mind. I won't cross-examine he witness. I'll just pretend I don’t notice anything different about you" (114)! How does this statement compare to her relationship with Allan?

A reoccurring theme in the tragedies of Blanche in “A Streetcar Named Desire” is the “Varsouviana Polka” the song that was played right before Blanche’s husband, Allan Gray, committed suicide. Stella had confronted Allan about his homosexuality where as she refuses to confron't mitch about anything.
