To Leeper, the Ski troops were “skiers in white shrouds, winging down virgin slopes, silent as angels” (pg. 124).Leeper believed to propaganda of the war films. Leeper thought joining the ski troops would allow him to peacefully commune with nature. There is nothing peaceful about war and Leeper will find out that there is nothing romantic about joining the ski-troops.
