Ruth begins the morning yelling for her husband and son to get out of bed. Walter doesn't understand why she's yelling if he can't get into the bathroom, and then makes the mistake of asking about the insurance check. Ruth is worried about money and gets upset when her husband begins the morning talking about it. When he asks her what's the matter, she says she's simply tired.
