A Raisin in the Sun

Beneatha’s statement “Thirty pieces and not a coin less” is an allusion or reference to the Biblical account of Judas Iscariot accepting thirty pieces of silver to deliver Jesus Christ to the Pharisees. What is the purpose or meaning of this allusion?

Beneatha's purpose in using this allusion is to let Lindner know that unlike Judas, they will not betray one another for money.
