Jay's Treaty (November 19, 1794) was an agreement that relieved the tension between the United States and Great Britain. It also established a base, on which, America could build a sound national economy, and assured its commercial prosperity.

Pinckney’s Treaty (Treaty of San Lorenzo) was an agreement between Spain and the United States that fixed the southern boundary of the United States at 31° N latitude and established commercial arrangements that were favorable to the United States. U.S. citizens were allowed to freely travel the Mississippi River through Spanish territory. Americans were also afforded the privilege of tax-free deposit (temporary storage of goods) at the port of New Orleans.
