What role did UNICEF play in Beahs life? How do you think UNICEF found him?

The UNICEF organization is the first group that rescues Beah. Their mandate is to help children in distress around the world. African conflict areas have many children in distress. They probably brokered a deal with the government forces to get the children out of there. UNICEF would know the various groups using children as soldiers.
