A Long Way Gone

What are the differences between the "rebel" boys and the "army" boys?

How do they react to each other?

Really both groups are just boys forced to fight for a side. The army lieutenant justifies their attacks by espousing that they are fighting for the defense of the country, whereas the rebels kill without cause. The boys on both sides are merely indoctrinated by whoever got to them first.
