What are the similarities and differences between Nya and Salva with regards to culture and place?

Nya and Salva are both from the South Sudan. They’re both faced with a person vs nature conflict, as Nya must rely on nature to get water, while Salva stuggles with hunger. They are each afraid of meeting an enemy, Nya is afraid of the Dinka, whereas, Salva is afraid to meet a Nuer (Nya’s tribe).
