Sara could have shared her worries and trials with Ermengarde. Why did she not do that?

She arrives home tired and hungry, and the bad-tempered cook gives her only stale bread for dinner. I don't think she wants to burden Ermengarde with her problems. She also doesn't want to be judged by another person.
