How do people act toward the end of the plague?

As Londoners observed an ending to the plague, they began acting carelessly. The people believed they were out of harm's way and began to run about in public and not pay attention to whom they associated with. Londoners went about their business, reopening their shops, conversing in the streets, and for the most part, returning to their normal way of life.
