why do you think Dickens describes so many different people celebrating christmas in this stave?

The Ghost wants to show Scrooge that even people living in squalor and misery find a little happiness in Christmas. They find respite from their harsh lives by honoring the Christmas spirit. He also shows Scrooge that people his rejects, like Fred, still wish him well.
