A Christmas Carol

How are poor working conditions exemplified throughout this novel?

I am studying for a question about the treatment of work and have chosen to compare some paintings to Dickens' Christmas Carol.

Dickens liked to chronicle the poor and their working conditions during this era. Generally the poor worked long hours in unsafe conditions for little pay. Bob Cratchit is barely able to keep food on his table. Children wirked in filthy factories or they were sent to work houses.
