A Christmas Carol

Christmas Carol, Stave 1

In Stave One Dickens says this about Scrooge "A squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous old sinner.", can somebody give me some ideas about writing adjectival sentences like this one about Fred, Marley and Bob Cratchit?

Also does anybody know the pun that is on Page 44?

Thank you in advance

Adjectives that can be used to described Fred would be joyful, happy, merry, charitable, kind, thoughtful, and persistent.

Adjectives that might be used to described Bob are timid, happy, cordial, kind, warm, and fun.
