11. how does Dickens begin to create more sympathy for scrooge at this point?

Scrooge is transported to his past and we see Scrooge's emotions come out. No longer is he the hard and unfeeling man we knew in Stave 1. We see sorrow, sympathy, and sincerity for the first time.
