"War is peace" is one of the paradoxical slogans of the party. The thought is that while Oceania is at war, everyone within the state will be at peace with each other. Who would dare oppose a government in time of war? Either you are with us or against us sort of thing.Hmmmm sounds kind of familiar. In any case we know from our own history that there is nothing like a war to get people to pull together and forget about "petty" problems. In Oceania constant war helped ensure the party stayed in power.
