What if a person were too dense to understand 'crimestop' and 'doublethink'?

I find it difficult to believe that the entire population of Party members would be intellectually developed enough to be able to utilize crimestop and doublethink, both of which require great mental discipline. It seems almost an impossibility presented to us in this novel. Thoughts?

I think what you're misinterpreting is that all Party members would have to understand. Think about it....... who needs to be intellectually developed and would the general population be so easily led if they were in fact highly educated?
