As Party propoganda, this quote is contradictory at best. None-the-less, the Party's campaign to control the thoughts of its citizens is a successful example of psychological control. According to the Party's propoganda, independence breeds failure..... success is based upon collective work and collaboration. Thus, freedom is slavery. In contrast, slavery is freedom because the will and collective work of the majority insures basic needs and safety for all.
