The “Party” has taken over all aspects of life and is intent on eradicating individuality.

There are telescreens, which serve as receivers and transmitters at the same time. They consistently relay messages from the Party and allow the dreaded “thought police” to tune into the activities of any individual at any given time.

Well there is the outer party. They are the bureaucracy who run the giant autocratic government.

The inner party is a handful of old men who control everything simply to stay in power forever.

The proles are the bulk of the population. They are the ignorant masses. THey are afforded much more freedom than outer party members because they are not seen as a threat.
