How is the architect providing helpful leadership for the jury?

The architect, Juror Eight, is the only juror to vote "not guilty" in the first vote. He is willing to set the tone, note the problems he saw in the trial, and question the presentation of the evidence, as well as the witnesses who provided the evidence. He consistently advocates for the defendent and is determined to do the right thing.... to do his job.
