17. What are the first hints of coming trouble that Captain Smollett sees?

One of the first hints of coming trouble can be found in Captain Smollett's complaints about the situation at hand. He has not chosen his own crew, the men know more about the purpose of the venture than he does, and he is not in favor of treasure hunts, as he consider's them "ticklish" or dangerous work.
