The History Boys contains casual discussions about, and references to, inappropriate and abusive relationships between teachers and students. Most of the characters in the play seem relatively untroubled and unfazed by these topics -- in fact, these types of relationships are discussed as if they are a fairly common occurrence at the time. Having said that, students in today's classes may feel differently about these topics. In the time since the era in which The History Boys is set, society's interpretation of and response to sexual relationships between teachers and students has changed significantly, so it may be a good idea to warn students about these topics ahead of time, and...
