The Heir (The Selection) Character List

Eadlyn Schreave

The main protagonist of the book, and daughter of America Schreave, the protagonist of The One. She is headstrong and believes she does not need a man to rule the kingdom. She is also arrogant but still, there is a side to her that respects her parents, and as such, she decided to participate in the Selection.

Ahren Schreave

Eadlyn's younger twin brother. Ahren is much kinder and sweeter, and he understands people's feelings more than Eadlyn. He is also in love with Camille and elopes with her towards the end of the book. Eadlyn really admires her brother and is one of the few people she looks up to.

America Schreave

The Queen, and mother to Eadlyn and Ahren. She is a loving mother and deeply cares for her children's feelings. She also understands Eadlyn's feelings as she was in a similar position before. She suffers a heart attack towards the end of the book.

Maxon Schreave

The King and father to Eadlyn and Ahren. He is a good king and has made every effort to eliminate the caste system and ensure equality. However, he is still facing a lot of opposition from the public and therefore urges Eadlyn to participate in the Selection as a distraction whilst he looks for a solution to the rising tensions.

Camille de Sauveterre

She is the French Princess and is madly in love with Ahren. Eadlyn is jealous of Camille, because she is everything she is not, and is also loved by the public. She also feels that Camille will take her brother away from her.

Kile Woodwork

He and Eadlyn detest each other at the start of the novel, but since he was chosen to participate in the Selection, they grow closer and eventually begin a romantic relationship. Kile longs to be an architect and study outside of the palace.
