The Death Cure Background

The Death Cure Background

The Death Cure is the last book in the Maze Runner trilogy, but book number three in the series. It was written by James Dashner and published on October 11, 2011, by Delacorte Press. As the other books in the trilogy, this book will have a movie in 2017, but the exact date isn't announced yet.

The book's main idea is when the Gladers and group B finished the Scorch Trials successfully. Unfortunately, WICKED has lied to them and it wasn't the end, for WICKED did not find the cure yet, and it put them in third trials, this time, each one individually. The Gladers with group B knows who is immune and who is not, and Newt is not immune. WICKED gives them the chance to get their memories back, but Thomas, Minho, and Newt refuse. They decide to escape, and they do it, but WICKED is still after them, so they decide, with the help of the Right Arm, to take WICKED down.

Like his other book, Dashner got the idea from the hot weather of Georgia, his hometown. His book got many likes and fans, and many magazines gave positive reviews about the book. Entertainment Weekly wrote: "(A) mysterious survival saga that passionate fans describe as a fusion of Lord of the Flies, The Hunger Games, and Lost." Kirkus reviews also praised him: "Heart-pounding to the very last moment."
