Chapter 24 - Alternating-Current Circuits - Conceptual Questions - Page 867: 6

Answer

No

Work Step by Step

We know that in an ac circuit, the inductor is used to increase the resistance of the circuit. This is why the bulb shines less brightly. In the case of a dc circuit, the frequency is zero and thus the inductive reactance of the inductor for dc is zero. As a result, the impedance of the circuit will not decrease and the bulb will shine with the same brightness.
