Despite all the comforts that Harlan enjoys, he is not happy because of his skin, and he knows that people around him will never accept him because of his color. According to Harlan, he can only feel secure if he is taken to his home country, where people look like him.

    Corliss remembers her time and argues that being an Indian is the most challenging thing ever. An Indian must be a tough gig to survive the harshness of the people around her. The modern Indian should not assume life is as easy as she sees it because some people paid hefty prices for that freedom. Indians living in the 'White' man's land have to prepare themselves for harsh treatment and limited resources. Consequently, being a white man’s land means one has to brace for endless challenges.
